My Students

Our students come from all over Brooklyn- as we are a district PreK serving many different neighborhoods. This makes our school community diverse and unique. Our students come from varying backgrounds and cultures. Living in New York City, all of our students have been affected by COVID-19. They are 3-5 years of age and learn through open-ended questioning, exploring the process (not focusing on results) and of course, play!

My Project

Due to the pandemic, our classroom was left as it was, not knowing when we'd return. Custodians worked hard in the time that our school remain closed to clean and sanitize what was left. In the process, one of my cabinets that houses all of my books collapsed. This needs to be replaced.

In order to keep all of the materials my students are using sanitary and clean, I need a second cabinet.

Usually we have toys and materials out and easily accessible to my students. Due to social distancing and safety regulations for schools, I need to have materials stored and out of the way, only bringing it out when it is time to play.
