Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are sixth-graders at an urban, dual-language school. My school is a special place and a wonderful community. Teachers and students alike are happy to be in school and are excited and eager to learn.

My students love reading.

My Project

I had put in to order new copies of this book because my existing ones are falling apart, but ordering has been frozen due to COVID 19. It is the first book that my sixth graders read, and I would love to hand them new books. The ones I have are falling apart and I would literally have to tape many of them together if I hand them out.

This is an important book that deals with mental illness and LGBTQ issues.

It helps foster empathy and my students absolutely loved it last year. It would be great to get new copies for this year's students.
