Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

With your donation I will be able to Introduce my middle school students to renewable energy concepts through interactive experiments using microbits. Students will learn about renewable energy sources such as solar, wind, and hydroelectric power. We will Discuss their importance in mitigating climate change and reducing reliance on fossil fuels.

Students will build simple solar-powered circuits using microbits to measure sunlight intensity and voltage output.

They can also design and program simple gadgets powered by solar energy. Fans to control heat, opening doors and windows, detect heat and humidity.

Students will also create mini wind turbines using these Smart Home Starter Kits and attach microbits to measure wind speed and rotational energy. Students can experiment with blade designs to optimize energy output.

Students will be Guided through analyzing the data collected from their experiments. Discuss factors affecting energy production efficiency and encourage critical thinking about renewable energy solutions.

Students will Organize a showcase using the Smart Home Starter Kits where students present their experiments and findings to their peers and teachers.

Students will gain an understanding of renewable energy sources and their importance.

Develop basic programming skills through microbit projects.

Enhance problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.

Foster interest in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields.

Smart Home Starter Kit will provide sufficient guidance and support to ensure students feel empowered to explore and experiment. It will Encourage collaboration and teamwork among students. Consider incorporating discussions on the environmental and societal impacts of renewable energy adoption.

By combining renewable energy exploration with microbits, you're not only in helping teach students about sustainability but also introducing them to practical applications of technology in addressing global challenges.
