Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a speech pathologist and I treat students from multiple grades, primarily 3rd, 4th and 5th graders. I see students individually or in small groups either in my therapy room, push in sessions, or (more recently) remotely. My students have a range of support needed for different skills including expressive language, receptive language, pragmatics, articulation therapy, and fluency.

My students are kind, good-hearted, and make my job enjoyable.

Each has their own personalities that really blossom in their upper elementary years. My students are diverse and many come from low socio-economic circumstances.

My Project

The laptop would be used daily to be in compliance with my remote student services. My current DOE issued laptop does not have the necessary means for completing full days of live remote speech therapy sessions. It is crucial that both my students at home and in-person receive their mandated therapy.

The laptop would allow me to interact with my students at home, share virtual materials and allow me to video chat students with clarity.

It is so important that my students continue to receive the therapy that they need from any setting.
