My Students

I work as a Speech Language Pathologist with children in Pre-K through Eighth grade that exhibit difficulties communicating and progressing in school. Instead of speaking, they may use tears or gestures, or they will withdraw from an activity to avoid a task. So many of my students are growing up in a low-income community with limited resources. School allows them opportunities to grow as individuals, each at their own pace. All of my students receive Speech and Language services, which support them both within the classroom and in their community.

My Project

This year is going to look very different from the past. Many of my students will have an opportunity to learn digitally opening up new opportunities and presenting new challenges. Utilizing visual, interactive and engaging lessons would promote student progress. Students will learn to verbalize, read, write and communicate with family members, friends and teachers. Working digitally presents new opportunities for students to grow and gain independence and expand communicative skills. Learning digitally will be challenging, however utilizing highly engaging activities can open new opportunities for students to develop their speaking, reading, writing and thinking skills.
