Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are a highly enthusiastic and diverse group of learners! They come from wonderful families with a strong commitment to education, who will support their children as best as they can to achieve successfully in the classroom and in the future. Due to the present state of the world in a global pandemic, the option to be schooled remotely has had a significant impact on our school community.

Because of this, at the present time I am teaching 47 students online in a fully remote setting.

I lack the ability to show them how to solve mathematic equations that I would have on a whiteboard or chalkboard in the classroom. I believe that the support of an iPad with a pen to serve as a whiteboard would have a greater influence on the teaching and learning that I'm providing.

My Project

My students are in desperate need of a close replica to in-school teaching. While the computer and screen sharing on Zoom can somewhat support them, they are continuing to need the experiences they've come to expect in the classroom.

The iPad, along with the Apple Pen, would allow me to replicate the whiteboard or chalk board experience during whole class and small group teaching.

With this support, I can help my children to better understand the steps to problem solving while teaching and learning remotely. I believe that this will greatly enhance the teaching and learning that I am presently providing.
