Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My first grade students come to school each day ready to learn and explore various ways of solving problems. They are always up for a challenge. They find technology so motivating and a true value to their learning. We build a strong bond and work collaboratively with each other. They come each day full of energy and such a positive attitude. They are truly a great inspiration.

These young scholars demonstrate a strong capacity and inclination for learning.

As English language leaners, they look forward to exploring ways of comprehending and enriching the new language they are acquiring in my class.

My school is located near downtown Los Angeles, where there

are many families who often struggle to find employment. The school is surrounded by low-income apartments where most of my students live. Yet, they are always so delighted to come to school.

My Project

Many of my students come from low-income families. They are currently struggling with iPads given by the district that are outdated and locked beyond use. They have resorted to sharing personal devices with their siblings to participate in class and complete their assignments. Unfortunately, this has led to decreased attendance and participation. Giving my students an IPad would give them a chance to successfully learn from home. My first graders are so eager to learn. Help me give my deserving students a usable device that is compatible with the curriculum.
