Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a public school teacher serving children form low income families and they come from shelters around the school. We are also a Title I school. Students in Pre-K remote learning spend their time by signing into Zoom meeting. I have 6 students in my Zoom classroom Some of them live in temporary housing near the school and until they get permanent placement. They live in a neighborhood that doesn't provide them all amenities. Some students come from single family homes and they are emotionally disturbed. They really need some basic supplies that will help them in learning important skills.

My Project

My Pre-K students have assignments and activities that they can complete using the supplies I requested. Sometimes they are unable to do it because of a lack of markers and crayons. Their parents are unable to provide the necessary supplies and I feel miserable and helpless. I can't see their work in Zoom when I spotlight because at this time they can only do their work with pencil and also they can't add and subtract without math manipulatives. My students are hard working but I am not able to get the best out of them due to lack of supplies. The supplies that they need will help them learn from home
