My Students

I am a speech therapist who works with a variety of students each day. I typically work with students in groups of 3 with some students individually. The students range from Kindergarten - fifth grade.

My students present with a variety of disabilities and difficulties.

I have students who demonstrate difficulty with their: phonemic awareness and reading skills, reading comprehension, critical thinking, word-finding, pragmatic skills, and articulation skills. Some have been diagnosed as autistic, dyslexic, ADHD, or learning disabled. My students are motivated to improve their skills and work so hard. However, very often their confidence has taken a hit due to the struggles they have experienced in the classroom. In addition, receiving remote instruction has introduced many new difficulties for them.

My Project

As we continue to learn remotely, there are so many great resources on Teacher Pay Teachers to help keep my speech students engaged and motivated to learn. There are great resources that are interactive to help students review and learn various concepts. This will assist my students to learn at home.

My students thrive on success.

It is amazing to see how their confidence soar as they begin to understand new concepts and improve their skills. This is especially important to them as they have experienced so many struggles since remote learning was introduced.
