My Students

My scholars are hard working 3rd graders who are engaged and curious to know more! Every day we chant our school creed that echoes our core values: gratitude, self-control, grit, curiosity, and zest. I'm fortunate enough to say that my scholars display these characteristics on a daily basis.

We are focused on becoming college ready, global citizens.

While we are a Title I school, in one of the more impoverished areas in Miami-Dade, our socioeconomic backgrounds are not what define us. My 3rd graders are scholars on a mission to meet their current academic goals in preparation for college and life beyond!

My Project

As future leaders of their communities, my students need to build a love for reading. Through reading engaging fiction and nonfiction books, students become encouraged to effect change by reading about events and topics that interest them. Additionally, growing a love for reading is a transferable skill that will increase students stamina, which will be beneficial for high-stakes testing. Through increased stamina, and cultivated curiosity, students will also be prepared for the demands of college courses. These books will help my students increase their reading level, build their stamina, and prepare them for college, as they grow to be future world changers!
