This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Help me get my students sensory corner for a social-emotional classroom. These items will allow my special needs students to have a space to relax and recharge when they are getting overwhelmed and frustrated, it will allow them to calm down and get back to work when they are ready. The lava tubes are a great tool for students to calm down when feeling stressed and frustrated. The sensory wall allows my students on the spectrum with sensory input to relax when feeling overwhelmed. The rug, bean bags, pillows, and flex seating allow my students to lay and rest for a while when they need those few minutes of break to finish work. The stuffy oxalates will allow my students to hug it and feel a sense of comfort when feeling sad and frustrated.

My students are special because they are hard-working, they are in a special needs classroom but they always try their best and they do not give up.

Although they face some behavioral and social-emotional challenges they are always ready to learn and give their best in all academic and nonacademic areas.
