My Students

My students are multi cultural and are different in so many ways but then yet again so similar. I am the Special Education resource room teacher who assists special needs students on their difficulty accessing the least restrictive environment (general education classroom).

At times, they just require a listening ear, compassion and other times they need to sharpen their skills to compete with their peers.

My classroom is a safe place to "let their hair down" and shoot for the stars. Our school is finally opened so we are all eager to soar with the stars!

My Project

This school year is like no other. We all have lived through and survived this pandemic but, unfortunately, it is still going in. All of my students are so happy to be back in school but the repercussions of learning remotely and being isolated has caused my students a lot of anxiety and pressure.

I want to give my students the space to calm down, think through their thoughts and relax when they need that quiet time.

These sensory materials will help them be able to collect their thoughts and also jot down how they are feeling and how they can better help themselves the next time they feel this undesirable way.
