Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As a special education teacher, I work with students who face various mental and personal challenges that can significantly impact their ability to keep pace with the general education curriculum. To enhance their learning experience, I plan to incorporate games at the end of units to celebrate their knowledge and understanding of the content. Additionally, I would like to offer snacks as incentives for participation and positive behavior.

Given that my students are in high school, they are aware of their disabilities, and this awareness can affect their academic, social, and emotional growth.

Providing them with snacks and games offers a much-needed brain break and fosters a positive classroom environment. In addition to those items, I would greatly appreciate having a planner to help me stay organized with event planning, IEP meetings, and parent outreach. A wagon would also be incredibly helpful for transporting materials throughout the school. As a special education teacher, I often move between classes, and our building has multiple floors with various locations like the meeting room, media center, cafeteria, and courtroom. Having a wagon would facilitate smoother transitions without needing to make frequent requests for assistance.

I would greatly appreciate any donations of snacks and game materials to support this initiative. Thank you for considering this request, your support means a lot to us.
