My Students

My students in Philadelphia are working hard to take a strong step into learning! We work together in a public school where most families are low-income. As a new teacher, I want to provide them with as many opportunities as I am able to help them discover their passions, learn and grow!

Please support our class as we build a classroom community and foster positive growth mindsets that will follow each student throughout their lives!

My Project

These rekenreks will be used daily in our classroom to support our number sense throughout a growing progression of skills!

As a part of our opening math routine, we will be able to utilize our new hands-on tool on a daily basis!

Because this rekenrek has 20 beads with 10 on each line, we will use them to compare groups under 10. As our math comprehension continues to grow, we can utilize our rekenreks to solve basic addition and subtraction problems.

I look forward to using the rekenreks alongside other manipulatives because this math tool allows students to actively engage in multiple math concepts. Help us build our understanding of various math concepts by funding our classroom project!
