This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I currently work at a Title I school comprised of students from low-income families. My classroom is the primary special day program classroom made up of students with various eligibilities such as autism, learning disabilities, and other health impairments such as cerebral palsy.

My students strive to make progress toward academic achievement despite their personal challenges.

They come in every day with smiles on their faces ready to learn. They are always thirsty for knowledge and prepared to embark on new journeys.

My Project

Having two classroom Chromebooks for my students to use would allow them the opportunity to access crucial digital resources in order to reinforce important skills taught in class. Students with various learning disabilities require a countless amount of repetition in order to solidify skills. Allowing them the opportunity to supplement information they have been taught will ensure that they are able to practice, review, and engage with the material throughout the week. My students would be able to access online resources such as Moby Max, accelerated reader accounts, and math skills websites, as well as online resources directly linked to our classroom reading and mathematics curriculum.
