Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Curious, love to read, sincere hearts, storytellers, gifted and talented, tenderhearted 4th graders. Most of these students are returning from remote instruction, and I would love to have them return to a new fresh start. All students in my school receive free lunch, and our school is in desperate need of supplies.

My Project

I believe that this new library will spark my 4th graders’ imagination and stimulate their curiosity of the world around them. Coming back from a pandemic, I hope that these books will help the class focus, and develop their communication skills as they share their reading with others in the class. Sharing will also develop their social skills which is extremely important more so now after being home during remote learning. I also expect them to develop literacy skills as they read and learn to value books and stories, and appreciate the work the authors expend in helping them see the world through different lenses.
