Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
It is essential for band students in grades 6-8 to have access to high-quality clarinet reeds, saxophone reeds, trumpet mouthpieces, and trombone mouthpieces, especially in a Title 1 school where resources are limited.
The specific items requested will directly impact their learning by improving sound production, tone quality, and overall technique.
Quality reeds and mouthpieces allow students to focus on developing proper embouchure and musicianship rather than struggling with inferior equipment, which often leads to frustration and destroys their confidence.
My goal for this project is to ensure that every student can engage with their instrument effectively and confidently, leading to more successful and fulfilling musical experiences. These students are incredibly dedicated, resilient, and passionate about learning, often overcoming significant obstacles to be part of the music program.
By providing them with the necessary tools, we can help them realize their full potential, fostering not only musical growth but also confidence and perseverance.
