Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have a group of 24 enthusiastic learners! They are a 4th-grade group that is excited to be back learning in person and everything that comes with it! They are also dedicated to making individual changes to help the environment.

My Project

My students come from low socioeconomic backgrounds, where buying water every day is a luxury. This will help my students feel empowered in doing their part to reduce plastic waste. It will also help to reduce the use of plastic water bottles and allow them to use the newly installed water refill stations at our school. This will also reduce the distraction during class time because students can't afford to bring water from home every day. Students will be more focused and feel empowered to be helping the environment in the process.
