My Project

We are a neighborhood and immersion school. We have a Native language immersion program. All of the students receive free breakfast and lunch. We are located near a joint military base with many students coming from military families. Our school is culturally diverse with many different languages spoken and as many cultures represented. With our geographic location and high cost of living, we face many challenges others don't.

How do you reduce your carbon footprint and make sure that you aren't losing valuable learning time?

You get metal water bottles and drying racks to keep them clean. We have a water bottle refill station and my students have no reusable water bottles to have in class. They waste valuable learning time by going to the drinking fountain. With these water bottles they will be able to fill them several times a day and not have to rely on plastic cups or plastic water bottles. As a way to reduce our carbon footprint we also will be giving water bottles and drying racks to our little buddies making sure that more students are helping our planet. The larger water bottles are for science experiments and larger students who require more water.

By helping my students stay hydrated you are helping them be active learners and scientists at the same time. We can now help save the planet, learn more and learn about our carbon footprint all at the same time.
