My Students

The students of my self-contained classroom inspired me to do something sweet for them because they are all wonderful and eager to learn.

Our school is a Title I school which has nearly 1000 students from various and similar backgrounds all of whom are struggling to receive the best education possible while dealing with the circumstances of living in a poor and over-crowded school district.

A typical day in my 6-8th grade Self-Contained classroom for students with special needs can be demanding and stimulating. I am constantly on my feet all day. My days are spent constantly redirecting my student’s behaviors, teaching to meet the academic needs of each individual student, giving out rewards.

My Project

Helping our students in need is essential for their positive outcomes. Most of the students at our school are dealing with the circumstances of living in a poor and over crowded school district.

Donating to our project will greatly improve my students organizational skills and improve our classroom environment.

The recycle boxes will give the students a sense of ownership and pride in storing books of their choices and completed work.

They need to continue practicing organizational skills which is an important skill used for College and Career Readiness. Donating con-tact paper to our project will help repair and keep our class text books and recycled boxes in good condition for years to come.
