This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach 4th grade in a public school.

We are located in an urban school in the county of Los Angeles. Our school is located in a low socio-economic, bilingual community. Most of these students are English language learners, many of which also come from disadvantage homes where they may not have access to a camera to capture wonderful memories.

My Project

My fourth grade students, who like all children, like to be in front of a camera to capture important memories. They are full of energy who like to show themselves off. With a quality camera with video capabilities I can record their memories. I enjoy taking pictures and video of my students, but at times may have to limit myself in taking pictures or videos. I have to use my own personal digital camera or my cellular phone, that at times may not have space for pictures/video. The space may not be available on my personal digital camera because I already have memories that I have taken of my own children. In having a quality camera that will be used in school, we can create lasting memories on Cds or even make scrapbooks. My students will be able to use those pictures to enhance their writing, document memories, or even make HyperStudio stacks & PowerPoint presentations. In doing so students will be able to incorporate technology using the digital camera for their presentation projects.

My students will be motivated and excited to see themselves captured in pictures or video. The camera will help capture those moments that parents may have missed due to their work schedule or other commitments that may not allow them to attend.
