My Project

My amazing little musicians are so excited about learning to play new instruments in music class! Recently we started learning recorder technique, and if you know anything about music, you know that progress can be really slow in the beginning. If you don't have an instrument to practice on, that growth is going to be even slower. So... help me speed up their success!

I would like for each of my students to have their very own recorder to bring home from school so that they can explore their musical development each and every single day.

I want them to be able to practice what we are learning in school throughout the week. By having an instrument to practice on, they will develop their skills at a faster rate and become even more motivated when they hear their progress. This means more music making in their lives both at home and in school. It also means that they will be able to share their music making with their families, too. I have created so many materials for them to use at home while practicing, but they need the instruments in their hands.

Having an instrument at home for daily practice also means they will be developing some very important habits and personal responsibility through tracking practice logs, sending videos of their playing, setting goals for themselves, and self-assessing. They will also be strengthening their fine motor skills (something ALL of my students need) and making connections between their songs and literacy skills. There are so many benefits to playing music at home. Please help me make this possible for my students. Many of them do not have the financial ability to purchase an instrument of their own, so your support will be greatly appreciated.
