Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are highly motivated, highly diverse, and highly dedicated to music and school. They love exploring sound and songs through our classes. They respect their equipment and love using the instruments and tools to further their learning.

My students work together in harmony to create harmony.

They explore our culture by singing and dancing to folk songs. They learn history by exploring the composers and their famous musical works. They learn about sound and instrumental techniques by playing recorders, xylophones, drums, ​and ukuleles.

My Project

As we cautiously reopen after the COVID shutdowns and restrictions, the students in my class are carefully starting to return to some normalcy. We have started to safely play instruments again. As the music returns back to the classroom, so does the joy we feel as we make music together.

As we reintroduce different skills and activities to our class, we still are making adjustments to ensure health and safety.

I am asking for enough recorders for our entire fourth grade students. If each student has his or her own recorder, we can learn how to play this instrument safely.
