My Students

My students are inquisitive and outgoing learners. Throughout the year, they have challenged themselves to grow as readers and digital citizens.

They have worked to develop a collaborative and safe atmosphere in the classroom where we can discuss texts, scholastic ideas, and real-world problems.

Within time, the students became an inseparable community of support where real-life struggles were being shared. This group has shown immense maturity in providing emotional support through their growth in middle school. Not only that, but these students also vocalize when they are struggling with something, educationally or internally. That element of education makes this group remarkable; they work to vocalize and give affirmation of their peers' self-worth and ability.

My Project

With the integration of electronics in my classroom, there is a daily struggle for my students to keep the devices charged enough to make it to their last classes. The majority of students make it with enough battery to get through a portion of the day but struggle by the end. Along with that, some of my students may not have a consistent or reliable location to charge their devices at home, so they come in with a battery that will not make it through the day. Adding siblings unplugging devices or chewed cables, and my students come into the day feeling frustrated. I would like this project to focus on reducing student stress by providing a space in the back of the classroom for students to begin their day by plugging in so that they can make it through the day.

The goal of this project is to provide my students with a consistent and reliable place at school to charge their devices so that they can have access to the educational content.

By providing my students with this space, they will have access to chargers for their technology and a safe location to ensure that the device is maintained.
