Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school is located in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The children at our school are truly amazing. They are faced with many challenges but are always ready to tackle the tasks that await them with smiles on their faces.

They come to school every day prepared to learn and meet new challenges.

They represent different cultures, however stand together as a school community. Our children and staff are dedicated to their education, but sometimes are met with the difficulties of lack of resources.

My Project

Recess is an important part of a student's school day. Through play at recess, children learn valuable communication skills, including negotiation, cooperation, sharing, problem-solving, and coping skills, such as perseverance and self-control. When children have recess, they are less fidgety, more on task, have improved memory and more focused attention, and develop more brain connections.

My project will give our students the equipment needed in the schoolyard to have fun and play.

This project includes basketballs, soccer balls, footballs, lacrosse sets, hockey, and even chalk! We hope you can help fund this project!
