Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students and athletes show tremendous potential when it comes to sports and fitness. When giving the opportunity and resources they can excel. Bringing in the resources will increase their commitment to physical activity, also the exposure to different environments and cultures will expand their enrichment and quality of life. We currently have a new track and field, but are lacking all the necessary equipment such as a high jump bed, starting blocks, hurdles, throwing net, and other critical equipment and supplies. Increase participation in Sports especially track and field.

Increase lifelong fitness and wellness.

The school being in an underserved but very vibrant and rich Hispanic community, it is difficult for parents to offer much support to their students when it comes to sports and fitness. I do believe exercise and physical activity is one of the best medicine in dealing with anxiety and depression, which many of our students are experiencing today. The goal is to bring a rich and rewarding track and field program to the community which can enhance the well-being of the students and families in the community.
