My Project

It is our third year rebuilding our band after the Pandemic shut us down for 2 years time. We are proud to have three levels of band classes as well as an after school jazz ensemble. For the first time since 2019, it feels like our music program is back!

The band room has become a shelter to our students as we emerge from Pandemic trauma.

Many students come in at 7:20AM to practice and during lunch periods, the room serves as a place to hang out and practice. Our students have participated in the Salute to Music Program on Saturdays, the Area All State Festival and a multitude of other extra-curricular music programs. The students are hard working, care for one another and practice hard. Many students in the upper grades use their lunch periods to help teach my beginners.

As Pandemic relate ARPA money disappears our school has experienced a profound budget shortfall. We have a wonderful administration who support the arts wholeheartedly, but there is simply no money for basic supplies. We are in need of harder reeds, better ligatures, functional neck straps, cup mutes for jazz ensemble. Fulfillment of this project will help my students immensely as we head into concert and festival season. Thank you so much for helping my amazing and deserving students.
