Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

This year, I will be working with an 8:1:1 alternate assessment group of students. They are all autistic and are all very unique students. Some of them are somewhat social and then others are working in developing those skills. All of my students this year are computer and technologically literate so that is why I am trying to get this project funded so I can get some tablets for the students to use for academic and social development purposes

My Project

Due to the fact that there is still so much uncertainty about how our school year is going to go and with the fact that my population of students has extreme difficulties with change, especially quick changes, the tablets that I am requesting for my class would serve several purposes for them and myself in my in our classroom learning and culture. First, my students would be able to use the tablets in class to do individual work assignments. They would also have tablets for social development needs. The tablets would even come in handy if we were to have to shut down the class because of anyone getting Covid and if the students had to do their work remotely again they would have already made themselves very familiar with our online components because they would have practiced using the tablets. Socially, the population of students I am going to be teaching have deficits with social interactions so the tablets would also provide another way of socializing for them.
