My students need a classroom full of supplies like learning centers, markers and white boards, as our school was completely flooded in Louisiana. We lost so many supplies and activities that we use daily for learning and centers.

My Students

I've only met my students this year for one day because our community and school were affected by the Great Flood in Louisiana. They live in all different neighborhoods and come from different backgrounds. Several of my students lost everything in their homes and many are displaced right now. Many of my students are rebuilding their homes or housing other families. Their little lives have been turned upside down in the matter of a few days and the last week and a half has been very trying.

My Project

These materials will help me rebuild my classroom that was affected during the flood in Louisiana. I'm a first grade teacher and I strive to make my classroom a home away from home for my students.

We lost all our center activities, desks, chairs, and many other supplies that we use in daily learning.

These materials, (markers, white boards, and activity centers), will assist in writing, reading and comprehension, math, and language. I'm hoping to give my students every opportunity to thrive and succeed in my classroom this year. I want them to have the materials that will allow them to practice and explore new skills.
