My Students
My class is full of students who are eager, excited, and motivated to learn. I teach a first grade gifted and talented class at a large public school in New York City. There are thirty-two children in the class, all amazing thinkers with diverse needs and a wide range of abilities. They have a variety of interests and a love for learning. Their interests spread throughout all areas of literacy, math, science, social studies, and technology. They love learning through hands-on and interactive activities.
My Project
A Scholastic News Magazine subscription is a fantastic resource that allows my students to read about real-world, nonfiction topics in a fun and motivating way. They allow me to teach nonfiction skills and strategies that my students can apply to their independent reading. The great thing about Scholastic News is that it comes in a paper form and a digital form. We don't yet fully know what this upcoming year will hold for us, but Scholastic News will be a constant resource that can be used for both in-person learning and remote learning.
