My Students

Our early childhood school is now in its eleventh year serving the community. In our Pre-K class, that means over 180 students have come and gone from this classroom. Along with that, many other students have called our room home for enrichment classes, after-school programs, and summer camp.

Families send their precious children to our class every day, for us to help them take those first steps towards accomplishing great feats.

Children make this room their home for however long they stay and miss it dearly when they move on. It's something we take pride in, and we hope to continue doing what we love to do and that nurtures their love of learning.

I've been teaching at my first and current school for seven years. No matter who enters through that door, they are part of our school family. I hope to provide them with the absolute best education we can offer.

My Project

Imagine if Tinker Toys were life-size so you could build a house, a tent, a fort, a castle, and just about anything your imagination can conjure up. The giant building possibilities would be endless.

There's an early childhood crisis that's occurring and it isn't getting enough attention.

Many children are growing up too attached to tech devices. Kids are becoming addicted to screens and obsessed with getting high scores, more likes, and shares.

Given the proper resources, our students will enter a new world of thinking; they would be thinking STEMically!

I am requesting PVC pipes, connectors, crates, and curtains for our students to build and create life-size sets for their imaginative play. The materials requested would be reused inside and out to make anything we can dream of possible.

Currently, our dramatic play area is very unique. You will find hollow blocks, foam blocks, sticks, and fabric materials. These items are all open ended and nothing is truly defined. Defined objects limit creativity. Adding new pipes and connectors will encourage more thinking in the realm of science, engineering, and mathematics. When our Pre-K students grow older, it maybe inevitable that they will be connecting online to explore open world games.

With your support, they will be able to apply their thinking to that technology aspect of STEM. When the are introduced to Fortnite, Minecraft, and other sandbox type games, they will already have a real world experience that they can apply to the digital world.

Before a child runs, he or she must be able to walk. Before walking, they must be able to crawl. By supporting our project, you will help pave the pathway for our students to enter a world that's still undiscovered in so many aspects.
