My Project

Energized to engineer and antsy to turn art into action! That's what my fourth graders are! As their teacher, I aim to design an inclusive learning community that encourages my students to value their own identities as scientists, engineers, and artists!

Guiding my students to affirm their identity as individuals, innovators, and artivists is an important part of our curriculum.

We're excited about our upcoming Mystery Science unit is Energizing Everything and grateful the engaging lessons are available online and provided by our district but the materials are not. In order to explore, invent, construct, and experiment we need batteries and LED light bulbs to put my fourth graders engineering minds to work.

I am mindful of the many ways my students can build their own knowledge around concepts introduced through hands-on activities. This helps my students build knowledge together as we tap into their background knowledge and life experiences. Through hands-on science and art lessons, my fourth graders will have the opportunity to observe, question, and experiment in a social setting to build understanding while collaborating with peers. Energizing fourth-grade engineers to be leaders, change-makers, innovators and artivists!
