My Students

My students are happy, energetic, BRIGHT and eager to learn. They come from a variety of backgrounds. My class is a very diverse group and one thing they all have in common is they want to learn. They like to move, they love to read and love lots of positive attention. I want my students to enjoy reading from a variety of genres. With all the challenges children face today, I want my classroom to be a place of retreat. Books provide a retreat!

My Project

The students in my classroom are eager to learn the minute they walk in at 8am. They are exceptional children and many of them are already reading on a 4th grade level in the 2nd grade! I want them to have access to books that will help them learn more about the world around them as well as using their imagination.

The books I selected are from a variety of genres including mystery, fiction, non fiction, black history, baseball, Tennessee, maps, food chain, spiders, rainforest and seasons.

These different genres will give my student the exposure they need to explore the type of book that interests them the most.
