My Students

My students love to learn! My class is a diverse group of learners, and although they may come from a wide range of backgrounds, languages, and skills, they are eager to learn and try new things. My students attend an elementary school in a community that is highly impacted by poverty. Half of our population qualifies for free or reduced meals. Despite any challenges they may face, they come to school with a positive attitude.

I can't wait to meet and get to know my new students as we build community and learn from one another in our new virtual classroom!

My Project

This fall, my students and I will be logging on to our virtual classroom from our homes. We will be excited and enthusiastic to get back to teaching and learning, and maybe a little anxious at what the new school year will bring. With the first days of school, comes the excitement of a new classroom, and exploring and sharing all the new supplies and tools that will be used during the year. Since my students will not have that experience this year, I'd like to bring at least some of the classroom to them!

My students will use their white boards to help them engage in Zoom learning; writing utensils, glue, and scissors for creative work and motor skills; and organizational tools such as a pencil case to keep everything neat and tidy at home.

Having access to these necessary, basic materials at home will help them to be ready to learn!
