Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from many different backgrounds and abilities. Despite these differences, art allows me to make a connection with them. They may not excel in other academic areas, they may not understand the language or new culture, but art helps make that connection.

"Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time"- Thomas Merton.

Art class allows my students to express themselves. It is important for them to have an outlet in which they can input their thoughts and feelings. It is also the only time they can be exposed to fine art from different time periods and different countries.

My Project

My students produce all types of artwork. From observational drawings to abstract paintings and from clay sculptures to digital artwork. I currently have no way to print their digital work, making it difficult to share their artwork with their families and school community. This all-in-one printer will also allow me to scan their 2D artwork in order to upload it and/or print it when necessary.

Many students do not have the necessary resources at home to share their artwork with their family.

This all-in-one printer will help me to not only share student work with families and the community, but it will also allow the students to retain their artwork for years to come.
