I currently teach 6th grade at a low-income school in Utah. At our school, we have a very diverse student community. They differ in their backgrounds, abilities, learning styles, and interests. Our school is number 30 out of 241 public middle schools in Utah with the most diverse populations. Our school is made up of 1,128 students with 42% receiving free or reduced lunch.
My students love learning through hands-on engaging activities that challenge them to be critical thinkers and problem solvers.
Although the method and environment in which they learn best vary greatly; my students are inquisitive, compassionate, and creative. They love to learn outside the box while collaborating with their classmates to complete assignments and projects.
As their teacher, I want to make sure I give them an environment that meets all of the diverse needs of my students!
My Project
The materials in this project will create excitement, motivation, engagement, and participation in my 6th-grade math and science classes! By using these games, middle school students will have more confidence in learning and practicing the concepts while they learn how to work collaboratively. Students will be using playing geometric shapes, cards, buzzers, spinners, & dice.
It is time to bring more meaningful fun to the classroom!
By playing these games, students need PRIZES! Those include stickers, pens, fidget toys, and candy.
Let the science and math games begin! Additional items will be used for the classroom.
