This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Were you the kid that was always misplacing papers? Many children struggle to stay organized. This is the problem my students face everyday. I am constantly being told, "I can't find that."

My school is located in the center of low income housing.

Many of my students come to school everyday without the basic materials needed such as pencils and folders. Keeping their desks organized is a challenge. They have a very difficult time completing their writing when they are always misplacing it.

My Project

Having organizational writing folders will make a huge difference in my writing program. These folders lay out the steps to the writing process and provide students with guides as well as a place to get organized. In a class with 25 students, I am not able to sit with each child everyday during writing. The revision flip books will help my students to become more independent writers.

Writing is a part of life whether you are 10, 20, or 50.

Good writers are born at young ages. Taking the time to guide children through the writing process, and giving them the materials to succeed, means we are better preparing them for college and life after. Please help my students become fluent writers.
