My Project

I work with kindergarten through fifth graders that are eager to learn and grow. As a school counselor, I work with students who face daily social and emotional challenges. From managing frustration to building relationships with others, I help students learn tools that help them understand their emotions and make positive choices.

One of the most powerful tools that I can provide is books - rich stories that model empathy, problem-solving, positive social interactions, perseverance, and coping with challenging feelings.

I am requesting a collection of specially selected books that focus on building emotion regulation and social skills. Bibliotherapy allows students to see themselves in the stories they read and to explore complex feelings and situations in a safe and non-threatening way. Books are a wonderful way to introduce new skills to students. Books offer them a mirror for their emotions and a roadmap for healthy coping strategies. My students love to read and are always engaged in our counseling sessions when they have the opportunity to read a new book.

These books will become essential resources in our counseling library, providing students with relatable stories and practical strategies for emotional growth.
