Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

"Ms. Greenway, I wish I could read. Could you teach me how to read? I’m ready to learn." This is all too common of a request in a third-grade classroom after COVID. The range of reading levels is astonishing, levels even as low as pre-kinder. This year has been full of students with academic needs greater than any I have come across in all my teaching.

For our stations to be effective, my students need to focus and have the supplies to help them be their most productive self.

During stations, the students need headphones with microphones to use for our Imagine Learning computer program and our listening station. For our read-to-self station, we need a classroom library with a wide variety of book levels that accommodate all reading levels in our classroom. For the struggling readers, books at their level would help them feel more successful while also building confidence in their reading skills. Please help us procure a quiet and productive learning environment during our guided reading stations. Ready, set, read!
