Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school is a Title I school. The school serves about 50% African American students and 45% Hispanic students. The entire student population is eligible for free breakfast and lunch. Many students come to our school speaking without any exposure to the English.

The students are excited about learning new things, and they enjoy reading and learning new words.

Many of the students in my class are from hard working modest families that believe in the importance of a good education.

My Project

The books and hands on materials will allow the students to expand their reading choices and creativity. Fiction and Nonfiction books give students insight into possibilities. Several students in my class mention that they don't have any books at home.

Books can give students a chance to dream, learn and live in other places.

The project would also provide students with incentives to read more.

The hands on materials help with creativity, problem solving and playing. The project will give the students positive example of playing. I have seen the possibility in my students, and I know this project will help them attain higher goals.
