My Students

Can you remember the first time you read a book and the overwhelming sense of pride you felt when you were successful? That's the feeling I want my students to experience.

Unfortunately, budget cuts are making it more and more difficult for teachers to provide their students with all of the supplies they need to be successful.

My district is doing all it can to make this year a success, but I still need help. The hands-on tools are usually more expensive and thus, they become more difficult to obtain. That's why I need your help.

My Project

With your help, I would love to add the Leap Frog Tag Reading System to my classroom. I am asking for (4) readers - two would be used at school and two would be sent home for homework assignments. Teaching reading skills is so important in kindergarten. Currently, we study at least five sight words per week and it would be a huge asset if we were able to add the Tag Reading System to our reading program. The book set would be split between the classroom assignments and the homework assignments. I truly believe that the children would learn to identify words by sight as well as improve their comprehension skills with the Tag System. The Tag Reader System will also allow my young readers to explore books independently and build their confidence as they read the books by themselves. The Tag System would be a huge asset to our classroom.
