My Students

Imagine what it's like to be a Kindergartener attending school for the first time! Each year I am greeted with a wonderful group of eager students who are thrilled to be going to school for the first time.

My students are a diverse group of learners as I teach an ICT classroom with general education students and special needs students.

Students come from diverse backgrounds and they each come with their own special story. I can't wait to get to know them!

My Project

Kindergarteners love to work in student-centered literacy activities! It is thrilling to watch them become independent learners who work in small groups to explore letters, words, and books!

These requested materials will be used during guided reading instruction and literacy centers.

During literacy centers, the pocket charts will be used for students to be little teachers. They are used for many types of literacy activities from letter sorting activities to reading simple poems. Big books are a great way for teachers to allow students to "read along" with them. During centers, the students love to explore and read big books by themselves.
