My Students

My eight students are curious, fun, sweet, and persevering learners. They all are diagnosed with moderate to severe learning disabilities performing significantly below their age level. They have very high needs and need a lot of support in the classroom to complete various tasks throughout the day. Despite having many challenges, my students work hard at succeeding and they never give up. Each student has unique qualities and skills and we are all working towards becoming independent and kind individuals in our community.

My Project

The Montessori Busy board will help my students develop their fine motor and dressing skills. The large bag of rice is for us to create sensory bins throughout the school year. My students absolutely love sensory bins made out of rice. The sensory rice bins help support my students with developing different skills such as attending, self-regulation, fine motor, sensory processing, and more. The legos are a great way for students to practice their visual motor, fine motor, building and sharing skills. My students absolutely love Legos and it will also help them with sitting and attending during tabletop time. My students absolutely love playing with trains and this will be a great reward for my students after they have completed their work. The train set will also be a great way for my students to practice sharing and playing with each other.
