My Project
Many of the students I work with have difficulties processing their big emotions. They may be on the autism spectrum, have emotional and behavioral disabilities, or severe developmental delays. Most of the students love being read to and are willing to listen to social stories or books that teach about social skills.
Having a comfortable place to sit and engaging books to read will make processing through big feelings and discussing expected behaviors at school a little more enjoyable.
Students have enjoyed listening to these books during our social skills groups together and having our own classroom copies would mean that we can read them over and over to encourage repetition and practice of the skills.
