Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a 4th & 5th grade teacher in a pre k-8th grade school. Most of my students come from very low economic family status. My students all come from lower income families.

Many of these children face poverty, violence and obscenities of life on a daily basis, that are well beyond what most of us could imagine.

Yet my students do their best to learn. I try my best to give them a good education and an introduction to the American way of life, but with limited resources there are many things that others consider basic parts of education that I cannot provide without assistance. Many of them do not come to school with the correct supplies needed to succeed. Their parents are not able to supply them with simple school supplies.

My Project

My students need a variety of different school supplies, such as notebooks, folders, pencils, colored pencils, homework planner, erasers, dry erase markers and pencil sharpeners. These supplies will help keep my students organized, on task and ready to start learning each and every day. A homework planner will ensure that they are attending to their nightly assignments.

Having the opportunity to have these needed supplies available in my classroom would give my students the opportunity to start the year off on the right track.

They will have the tools they need to succeed and strive to reach their goals. Every student deserves the opportunity for success!
