Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Meet our incredible group of Social Studies enthusiasts! Our class is a diverse blend of amazing kids, some of whom are learning English while also working through individualized education plans (IEPs). They are not just memorizing dates and facts—they are connecting with different cultures, understanding global perspectives, and relating the past to the present, all while mastering a new language and learning style. They are not just students; they are budding historians, geographers, and citizens, and they shine brightly despite their challenges.

This year, we are dreaming of a hands-on approach to Social Studies.

Imagine our students piecing together history with tactile timelines, exploring geography with interactive maps, and diving into cultures with engaging visual aids. For our English learners, these tools are lifelines to understanding complex concepts in a new language. For our students with IEPs, there are tailored pathways to exploration that meet their unique needs. Our goal? Sparking curiosity and collaboration as our students dig into the past and map out their own futures.

And this is where your support changes the game. It’s not just about filling our room with school and art supplies; it’s about fueling our students’ passion for learning and discovery. It’s about sending a powerful message that their education, their growth, and their futures matter to someone. With your help, we aren’t just prepping lessons; we’re laying down the foundation for a lifetime of curious, compassionate, and informed global citizens.
