My Project

My project was designed to encourage students to experience and explore the world of engineering. I plan to have an engineering station as one of my work center areas. The students will be able to select from the different textured tactile sets in order to construct various establishments. However, they will need to follow through just as an engineer does. I will ask them to draw a building of choice using simple shapes. After the drawing is complete the students will need to select the best materials to make the build. Once they are done, then I will allow them to tell a a friend of their creation and express their thoughts. I will be continuously making the students aware of all the different styles of buildings globally. That's where the wood and stone materials come in. They will be linked to other cultures, history, science and math together. The books will be a great introduction piece to the station , but it can also be used in the classroom library for reference.
