My Students

Every morning we start off the day with a chant. Teacher says, "Ready to Rock?" and students reply, "Ready to Roll!". Some do not have excess to a computer at home. Have you ever been on a computer that quit working in the middle of a program or a project? Then imagine how a 6 year old feels.

I have 20 outgoing, energetic, and enthusiastic first grade students.

My students are from different nationalities from around the world. They speak in different languages.These hard-working, young students are eager and love to learn. They range from 1st to 5th grade level. They love challenge, enjoy working together, and encourage each other. We are a high poverty school and are eager to learn. This project will not only help my current students but future students as well.

My Project

My students need a laptop computer to connect to a projector and document camera to help create an interactive learning environment. This will help to introduce, reinforce, and enrich new concepts/skills taught in the first grade curriculum. This project will not only help my current students but features students as well. This laptop would help engage the students in many ways. We are limited to the amount of time that these students can use this technology. This laptop would offer many opportunities for the students on a daily basis in many ways. We are working on many English/Language Arts and Math Intervention Programs every day. This laptop will help because we run into all kinds of computer problems daily so this laptop would be very beneficial to my students.

Our school has a technology lab but it is used by 800 students taking Common Core Assessments.

Therefore, it is not used very often by our first graders. This laptop would allow us to make connections using technology by use of a projector and a document camera. Many of our computers are out-dated and this is very frustrating to our students when they are not able to research or complete the intervention program that is required for them to fulfill.
