Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school is made up of over 75% of English Language Learners and offers many special education classes such as special day classes, PALS, and autism classes. Our school has Extended Transitional Kindergarten, Transitional Kindergarten, Kindergarten, and First through Fifth grade.

Despite having to live and learn during a pandemic, our students always step up and face each challenge with courage and determination.

This new school year will still have its challenges and we want to arm our students with the right tools to be ready to learn on campus, at home, and on their IPADs. No matter what the beginning of our school year will look like, our students will face it and conquer it!

My Project

The bubble fidget tools will be extremely helpful in building and solidifying the foundational skills of reading and writing. By using the fidget tools students will use it as a sensory tool to help them decide how many phonemes they hear in words by popping the phonemes one-by-one. The bubble fidget tool will also help them in math by popping different amounts, using it to add and subtract, all while using their sensory skills. The doodle boards will be used to write out the sounds they hear in words, solving math problems, all while saving the environment by not having to buy whiteboard markers all the time.

These tools will help our students become lifelong readers, writers, and mathematicians!
