My Project

I love working with students with special needs. This has been my career path for the past 25 years and I still love what I do. Having multiple ability and grade levels in 1 classroom is challenging, especially for space. We need resources that are useful but do not take up a lot of space.

Whiteboards and pocket charts help students read, write, do math... actually they help in every content area.

They also can be moved around the room, as well they are versatile. Students will be able to use both sides of the whiteboard, either working on the same or different projects. Using a pocket chart, they can use it as a reference for a word wall or put words together to help them create and then write sentences. Using both sides, I can have the words for different groups of students, as well as math and reading word sorts.

This also helps with my students who have behavior difficulties because they like to move around a lot. They cannot remain in one place and often do not sit still. These items are easily moved to different areas of the room for differentiation.
